How you earn Qantas Points

On Qantas flights, points depend on the distance flown, the cabin and the fare type. You can also earn with Oneworld and other partner airlines, and through credit cards, shopping and other everyday partners.

Status tiers and Status Credits

The tiers are Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Platinum One, and you move up them by earning Status Credits from eligible flights. Silver, Gold and Platinum also need at least four eligible Qantas or Jetstar flights.

Status changes announced for 2026 and 2027

Qantas announced the largest change to Status Credits in the programme's history in February 2026.

  • Up to 50% of unused Status Credits can roll over to the next membership year, from late 2026
  • All members can earn up to 140 extra Status Credits a year from everyday categories such as Qantas credit cards and Woolworths shopping
  • From late 2027, one annual target per tier replaces separate attain and retain levels: Silver 300, Gold 700, Platinum 1,400
  • Platinum One stays at 3,600 Status Credits, with at least 2,700 from Qantas flights

When Qantas Points expire

Points expire if your account has no earning or spending activity for 18 months. Earning or using points with any programme partner restarts the clock, but family transfers do not.
